Deb work out of our Anoka Location
I graduated from Augsburg College with a BA in Psychology and Studio Art Double Major, and from Adler Graduate School with a MA in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy, Clinical Counseling and Art Therapy. I am working toward LPCC in clinical counseling and ATR-BC in art therapy. My experience includes working with adults and families who have issues with trauma, grief and loss, developmental disabilities, and serious and persistent mental illness, such as anxiety, depression, schizoaffective disorder, and dissociative disorder.
Through an accepting and collaborative therapist-client relationship, I use a holistic approach to encourage and guide clients to find joy and hope while focusing on body, mind, and spirit to achieve wellness goals. Clients concentrate on self with authenticity that enables personal growth. I help clients focus on solutions and personal narratives, explore creative self-expression, and find peace and fulfillment. Clients learn ways to co-exist with others and community for an enriching, positive, and purposeful life. I have a passion for art and helping people get to know themselves better through the creative process which allows clarity, empowerment, and the authentic self to emerge. We all have a unique creative process that evolves. When we experience and realize our creative process, we are empowered, and experience fulfillment and joy that can be shared with others.
