Tricia Shank
MA
My name is Tricia and I am a graduate student intern at Adler Graduate School in Minnetonka, Minnesota. I am working towards becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am married with three children, 2 girls and a boy, ages 4-9. I counsel from an Adlerian perspective and seek to provide encouragement and growth through a collaborative relationship. I have a Christian faith-based perspective and will include as much or as little faith perspective as preferred. I am passionate about working with all ages, individuals, families, and couples and offer support, acceptance, and compassion. I view the family as a system and each family member's actions affect others and I am excited to help families learn to create healthy patterns. I have worked part time as a teacher from preschool through middle school and have found a love of working with children through this experience. Through my education and personal experiences, I can help couples walk through a variety of marital issues as well as parenting challenges. I am especially drawn to helping those who have experienced trauma both as an individuals and families. Trauma can impact an individual as well as their family. I am passionate about helping military and first responder individuals and families and the unique circumstances these individuals and their families experience. I believe we all experience trauma differently and because an experience may not be considered traumatic does not mean trauma did not happen and the effects may show up in a variety of ways. I plan on becoming EMDR certified upon achieving my LFMT licensure. I consider it an honor to work with you on your journey. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my children, being outside by water, playing piano, horseback riding, reading, baking, and drinking coffee.
