My name is Kayla Larson, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor working towards licensure. I am dedicated to guiding individuals through their most challenging times. I hold both an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a focus on Behavioral Neuroscience and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Superior.
I specialize in trauma and have extensive experience working with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief, OCD, LGBTQ+ issues, career stress, and attachment wounds. I use a combination of Client-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt approaches in my practice. Additionally, I have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and I am experienced in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I believe in the inherent ability of each person to foster their own change and see my role as helping clients discover and navigate their path to healing. I trust that each person knows what they need, and my job is to support them in achieving their goals.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy hiking with my dog, being at any lake or river, fishing, and crafting with resin and macrame
