I truly believe that each person holds extreme wonder and uniqueness and has purpose far greater than they realize. I believe because of inevitable pain and confusion that exists in a person’s lifetime, they adapt false messages about themselves and cope with such messages accordingly. I have a passion for helping individuals find peace and wholeness, living authentically connected to themselves and others.
I am dually trained in addiction counseling and mental health counseling, specializing in the treatment of adolescents and young adults. I have extensive experience working with at-risk adolescents around issues of substance abuse, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and conduct disorders. I serve all types of clients with various backgrounds and presentations, though I find I work best with clients who are existentially questioning, navigating a difficult life transition, or exploring spirituality.
I have previously worked in long-term residential treatment, inpatient hospitalization, outpatient MICD treatment, and family therapy within an inpatient adolescent facility. Clients have described my counseling style as raw, authentic, warm and nurturing. I counsel from a person-centered perspective and employ methods of motivational interviewing, narrative therapy and existential theory.
